About Christmas Toy Guide

Christmas Toy Guide is a trip through the toys that have found their way under Christmas trees, into toy boxes, and sometimes into the backs of closets for generations.

Some were the toys everybody wanted. Others had their moment and quietly disappeared. And some are the toys you haven't thought about in forty years - until you see one again.

We cover memorable toys from the 1950s through today, with stories about where they came from, why kids wanted them, and what made them memorable. You'll find enduring classics alongside plenty of "Remember that?" surprises.

Christmas Toy Guide isn't intended to be an encyclopedia or a rigid historical ranking. A toy may have been introduced in one decade but become especially popular in another, or remain popular across several generations. Our decade classifications are simply an editorial way to explore toys and the eras with which they are most closely associated.

We also occasionally point visitors toward versions of classic toys that are still available today. Product availability changes over time, and the products available now may differ from the versions many of us remember.
