Magic Mixies

Add the ingredients, wave the wand and say the magic words. When the mist clears, see what you've created!

Almost like real magic - but for kids! A cauldron, a magic wand, a spell book and a handful of mysterious ingredients. Add them one at a time. Stir the potion. Tap the cauldron with your wand. Say the magic words: “Magicus Mixus!” Then the cauldron fills with mist, and when the mist clears, there's a little furry Mixie inside that wasn't there before.

Moose Toys introduced the Magic Mixies Magic Cauldron in 2021, combining electronic effects, pretend potion-making and one really good reveal. The cauldron uses lights, sounds and real mist to guide you through the magical incantation as you add ingredients and tap it with the wand. When you're finished, the Mixie appears through the mist. Moose's original product description lists more than 50 sounds and reactions and allows the reveal to be reset and performed again and again.

That reveal helped make Magic Mixies one of the hot toys of the 2021 Christmas season. The original Magic Cauldron became a record-breaking launch for Australian toy company Moose and went on to win Toy of the Year and Electronic Toy of the Year at the Australian Toy Awards.

Fortunately the magic isn't completely used up after the first spell. You can reset the cauldron, put the Mixie back inside and perform the reveal again - very useful when somebody else walks into the room and you want to show them what your cauldron can do.

Magic Mixies has expanded well beyond the original cauldron, with crystal balls, magic lamps, Mixlings, Pixlings and other variations. But that first cauldron had one particularly good trick: You put ingredients in. Mist comes out. And somehow there's a furry creature where there wasn't one before.
