Part stuffed animal, part pillow. And very squishy! Squishmallows are soft, round-ish plush characters that come in just about every shape and size you can imagine. Cats. Cows. Frogs. Axolotls. Dragons. Food. Fantasy creatures. And plenty of familiar movie and TV characters.

Squishmallows first appeared in 2017 with just eight different characters. The idea caught on quickly, with more than five million sold in the first nine months. But that was just the beginning - Squishmallows really took off a few years later, helped along by collectors and a huge following on social media.

Collecting is a big part of the fun. Each Squishmallow has its own name, along with a personality description or story printed on its tag. There are different sizes, seasonal Squishmallows, limited editions and plenty of licensed characters, like Pokémon, Disney, Star Wars, Hello Kitty and more. If you find one you like, chances are pretty good you'll find another one you want.

They also make an easy Christmas gift - just pick a favorite animal or character, find one in the right size, and you're done. And if you're buying for somebody who already collects Squishmallows, another one doesn't exactly create a duplication problem - it just joins the collection.
